PLOT
In a distant world, not too different than our own, there is a land where the stories of our childhoods and immortalized in history books. Here street urchins can become kings and true love’s kiss can revive the dead. It is a place of wonder, where any of you wildest dreams can come true. This is Adastra, a land where every fairy tale makes a kingdom and life is well for those of pure hearts.
However, it was not always like this. Several decades ago, the villains began to rise and plotted to take the many kingdoms that make up Adastra by force. Alone, they were all defeated, by the heroes of each land. Enraged by their nearly universal defeat, these villains combined forces twenty years ago and set out to destroy the world until there was nothing left, but a smoldering pile of ruins. They nearly succeeded too, as the heroes were not ready for such a vicious assault from all of their foes.
But it was only nearly.
The Heroes managed to win by sheer cunning and their long standing friendship with the Council of Fairies. They tricked the villains into believing they had a stronghold on the island of Peraspera, a wasteland that had no inhabitants, not even animals. Wanting to seal their apparent victory, the villains all came to the island, only to be trapped there after Merlin, Fairy Godmother, and the three good fairies constructed a barrier that kept the villains penned in on the island. In a single moment, good had finally triumphed over evil once and for all.
After the heroes had tracked down any villains that may have avoided the barrier and placed them on Peraspera, they thought they would never have to worry about evil again. But the Council had concerns they forced the great kings to hear. They knew some of these villains had families that were now forced to live on Peraspera and they believed that these children didn’t necessarily have to grow up amid the hatred and malice that now consumed the island. So they proposed an idea to King Phillip, Adam, and Henri, once a child on Peraspera reached schooling age, they would be brought to Adastra in order to attend a school designed just for them that would be run by the council. The Kings agreed and as a sign of their gratitude for the council’s help in the war, they declared that all the children of the heroes will be promised a place at this academy as well.
This was how the Academy Fabula Memoria was created and twenty years later, children from heroes and villains alike are in attendance. However, tensions are rising here. Instead of being encouraged to stray away from their parent’s legacies to form their own, students are forced into classes that reinforce these roles. Prejudices passed down from parents not pleased with their child’s education is also affecting how students interact with each other. The Fairy Council is seemingly ignoring this along with the swirling rumors that somewhere there is a new group forming, aiming to destroy Adastra, but it’s not the villains planning to do it. They say it’s time for someone else to have a happily ever after.
Welcome to Fabula Memoria.
