Aliyah always came off as a strong and confident young lady, and well for the most part she was. There was little that could break her but mostly she just hated to show that underneath it all she was vulnerable and a little weak just like every one else. Though when she got around her sister she seemed to lose any ounce of confidence she had. It was always stressful and seemed like some sort of unspoken competition on who was better or who was favored among their parents. In reality they were both loved equally, but Melody being the future queen and handful she was apparently needed the extra attention while their parents never really had to worry about Aliyah.
Aliyah always aimed to please and do well in everything she attempted. She followed rules and was a model child for the most part. That didn't mean she was a complete angel though as she also had a little bit of devil in her. But the point was her parents never had to worry about her, she did well in school, had lots of friends and was quite popular while her sister was the odd ball of the family.
Okay so maybe she overacted a bit with her family situation, she never denied being a bit of a drama queen. It still impacted her though and made her feel vulnerable, her sister would always be superior in her eyes even if she was the only one who saw it that way. The two had tried to have lunch together but it went south quickly when Aliyah took offence to something Melody had said and then she spouted back some not so princess like words, and then quickly leaving before the tears came.
Wanting a quiet place to collect her thoughts she headed to the Event hall. A place where she spent a lot of time helping plan different school events and dances, she lives for that kind of stuff. She found herself in the recital hall taking a seat in the empty, dimly light room. Peace and quite, or at least she thought she was alone. She wiped the tears from her eyes and and started to think about the conversation that had set her off. Had she overeacted? Probably. Would she ever admit that? Probably not.
